Color Changing Halo Headlights
Updated: October 11, 2024
Color-changing halos look very attractive, as halos look aggressive and reveal that show car look. You can control modern color-changing halo lights using a Bluetooth application. Morph headlights can change the color of the halo rings the way you want. LED halo rings last long, and in general, are guaranteed to operate around 50,000 hours.
So, how to change the color of your halo headlights? Just install a set of color-morphing halos in your headlight assemblies, hook up the wires of your color-changing halo kit and install an application into your phone. Next, you can control the profile performance based on your preferences. Note, however, that the only color headlight that is legal to use in any state is white. Yet, when the low beams are on because the rays focus on a single point, you can’t distinguish the color of the halos. You can also consider halo lights with the switchback function for your vehicle.
Federal laws do not allow using red and blue lights on the front end of any vehicle, as these are considered colors that are used by emergency vehicles and cop cars. Besides, some states do not allow using certain other colors. Yet, if you badly want to install colored halos and still have an opportunity to drive your vehicle without the risk of getting a ticket from a police officer, there is still a way out. You can install a set of color morphing halos and keep lighting white when you drive, and switch to whatever colors you like in a parking lot or during a car show.
Color changing halos technology explanation
Color shift technology allows changing the color of halos by means of a remote controller or even by means of your cell phone with the help of the application. Such halos feature LEDs with RGB capabilities, and these light-emitting diodes can take hundreds of different colors.
Such halo rings are relatively cheap and the average lifespan of these RGB diodes is around 100.000 hours. These halo rings are quality and do not require additional load resistors, which means they will flawlessly operate with 12V power, which is the normal output of a vehicle.

Color shift LEDs: capabilities and controllers
A combination of a quality controller built into each of the LEDs in the color-changing LED in combination with remote control allows changing the color output of the halo rings to any of hundreds of vibrant colors. By means of the remote, you can either pick one color of your choice or set up color-changing modes among the pre-programmed effects.
The latest generation of color-morphing halos features 3-chip LED elements that feature 6-layer PCB. It means that each of the surface-mounted LEDs contains one tiny red, one blue, and one green diode. This is a quite complex technical combination, which allows producing consistent colors that do not show red, green, and blue elements. And, it is a more advanced option of the RGBW technology that was used before. Besides, such LEDs are 3 times as bright as the older technology.
Color Changing LEDs: Advanced controller options
Color shift halos come equipped either with a remote or can be controlled by means of an application. But in any case, quality color-changing halos feature a built-in controller that allows color setting and programming. The controller itself allows not only setting and changing colors but also setting the functions and color-changing effects. Besides, the new generation of controllers allows saving the effects in the memory of the device.

My old Pontiac looks way nicer with these color-changing halos. It's red, and my halos can be red when it's parked. When I drive, I switch the color to white not to get a ticket lol
