Having worked with smoked headlight installation for the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500, we can say, that the most popular headlights are made by Spyder and Spec-D. If you own 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 Silverado, you are not likely to find something else that looks attractive in smoked design. So, to make your choice simpler, we’ve compiled a quick selection of the aftermarket headlights with smoked lenses for this truck. Moreover, we’ve divided them into categories to better understand what you are getting for the price.

Smoke Euro Headlights for the Chevy Silverado

When you order Euro-style headlights, you are getting just the headlight shell and the exterior plastic lens. These lights never come with bulbs for the high and low beams, as you are supposed to use your stock headlight bulbs. However, quite often the turn signal bulb is included. This is the least expensive option available today.

Spyder® - Black/Smoke Euro Headlights with Turn Signal/Parking Lights

These headlights by Spyder are available with lighter and darker lens tints, so you are welcome to pick the ones you like. Just make sure they will meet the legal headlight tint requirements of your state. Note, that these headlights come without high and low beams.

Projector Headlights with Bumper Lights

If you are willing to replace the OEM headlights with headlights that feature a built-in optic lens, the simplest option is smoked projector headlights with bumper lights. There are 2 popular aftermarket brands that offer these headlights for the 2003 – 2007 Silverado truck: Spyder and Spec-D. Both are a good value for the money. At the moment, headlights by Spyder are discontinued, so we offer 2 Spec-D options since they are available. Note, that both options feature lightly smoked lenses. Yet, some feature chrome-plated background and the others feature black backing.

Spec-D® - Black/Smoke Projector Headlights with Bumper Lights

If you are interested in adding that blacked-out look to your Silverado truck, consider these headlights by Spec-D. They feature a black background and a tinted exterior lens. Bumper lights are included. Note, that headlight bulbs for the signal light and bumper lights are not included.

Smoked Silverado Headlights with LEDs

Such headlights are a great option if you are willing to replace both headlights and bumper lights of your Silverado truck and get that aftermarket look for its front fascia. Again, only Spyder and Spec-D are those 2 reputable brands that offer quality and affordable headlight options for the older Silverado models. We have seen both projector and reflector style aftermarket headlights for this vehicle, and both are worth purchasing.

Spyder® - Chrome/Smoke Conversion Euro Headlights with LED DRL

These headlights are made for those, who would like to add that delicate aftermarket look. They come equipped with tiny LEDs that look attractive, yet not too aggressive. The headlights feature a tinted exterior lens and chrome-plated background. Note, that these are reflector-style headlights, so they come without a high/low beam bulb, as you are supposed to use the OEM one.

Smoked Halo Projector Headlights

The good news, there are 2 good variants of aftermarket headlights with halo rings for the older Silverado models. Yet, both replace only headlights and come without bumper lights. You can keep the OEM bumper lights if you wish to, or purchase smoked aftermarket bumper lights separately.

Spec-D® - Chrome/Smoke Dual Halo Projector Headlights with Parking LEDs

You will love these Spec-D headlights if you are looking for something truly distinctive and aggressive for your truck. Note, that these headlights come equipped with a projector lens and headlight bulbs for the high and low beams. Yet, we recommend buying a set of good headlight bulbs right away and installing them as long as you do the installation. That’s because the bulbs that you will get from Spec-D are not bright enough.

Any information on cool aftermarket headlights for 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500?

    1. Susan Andrews says :Reply

      Hey there,

At the moment I cannot speak of any great aftermarket headlight assemblies at the moment, as I do not want to recommend something I haven’t seen by my own eyes.
If you are looking for that aftermarket look, check out Oracle Lighting® Color Dual Halo Kit for Headlights, part number 3993-001 (just check the color you need: red, white, blue or color shift).
Another great upgrade for the new Silverado is Oracle Lighting® – Demon Eye ColorSHIFT LED Headlights Upgrade Kit part # 1453-334. It is a color shift and looks stunning, check it out. If I were you, I’d pick it for my Silverado.

      Hope this helps!

I was wondering if tinted headlights are street legal?

    1. Susan Andrews says :Reply

      Hey Kate,
It depends on the laws of the state you live in. There is no single federal law about smoked headlights.

    Hi there,

I was wondering if you can tell me the best aftermarket headlights for my 2019 Silverado under $500. I know there are many of them online, but I can hardly determine, which ones are quality, and which ones aren’t. Also, do all aftermarket headlights come with the bulbs? Or I have to buy them separately? If so, which headlights bulbs do you recommend for 2019 Silverado 1500?

    Thank you!

    1. Susan Andrews says :Reply

      Hey Sandra,
True story, there are many great headlights for the 2019 Silverado under $500. Yet, I need just a bit more information from you.
What design do you like: something aggressive and distinctive, or something that is similar to the OE lights?
Do you like black headlights or you are into that chrome look?
If you are looking for the least expensive option, consider Euro headlights or OE-style aftermarket lights. Note, that Euro headlights come without the bulbs, as you are supposed to use your factory bulbs with the new lights. All other types of aftermarket headlights come with bulbs (or at least 90% of them). To make sure you are getting the bulbs, just check the product description of the headlights you are about to buy.
Yet, I recommend purchasing a quality set of bulbs separately (I like Sylvania and Philips). That’s because the bulbs that are included are not bright enough, and you will not be happy about the brightness of your lights.
      Hope this helps!

    Hey Steve,

Is there something you can recommend for a 2015 Silverado 1500? I was looking at Spyder with lightly smoked lens and chrome housing. What can you tell me about them? Are they a good fit?

    Thanks,
    Ken.

    1. Susan Andrews says :Reply

      Hey Ken,
As far as I know, those headlights by Sypder are discontinued, as they are unavailable for over 6 months.
Yet, they are quite okay for the price. If you happen to get them, you will like them, since they look great, fit great and feature light smoked tint to be legal in almost all states.
If you do not happen to find them, check out these Spec-D lights. They are very similar to Spyder ones that are not available.
Spec-D Part # 2LHP-SIV14G-C-GO (Note, that they are not compatible with Silverado HD models)
Alternatively, see smoked Euro lights by Spec-D: part number 2LH-SIV14G-RS.
      Hope this helps!
